Audiostash does not collect, store or share personal data. Your library never leaves your phone.

  • On-device only. Imported files, track names, playlists and settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded.
  • No accounts, analytics, tracking or ads.
  • Automatic names (iPhone). When an audio you add has no usable name, the app tries to name it:
    • Song recognition: an acoustic fingerprint of a few seconds of the audio is sent to Apple's ShazamKit service to look up the song. The audio itself is not sent, and nothing identifies you.
    • Speech: the first seconds are transcribed by Apple's speech recognition on your device; the audio never leaves the phone. iOS asks for speech recognition permission first, and naming works without it.
  • Pro and invites (iPhone). The app creates a random, anonymous ID on your phone (stored in the iOS Keychain). It contains nothing about you, and we never ask for your name or email.
    • Pro status is handled by RevenueCat, which receives that anonymous ID and your App Store purchase or offer-code information to know whether Pro is active.
    • Invite codes: when you open “Give a friend a week”, our server stores your code with your anonymous ID. When you redeem a code, it stores which code was used with your anonymous ID and the date, and asks Apple's DeviceCheck to mark your phone as having redeemed a code (Apple keeps two bits per device; no personal data). This only exists to give each phone one free week. Inviting is always optional.
  • Photo library access is used to show your most recent videos inside the app and to open the system picker, so you can choose which videos to add. Videos are only read on your device; the app copies only the ones you add. With limited access, the app only sees the videos you allowed.
  • Deleting your data. Deleting a track in the app deletes its file. Uninstalling the app deletes all imported files, playlists and settings.

If optional accounts or cloud sync are added in the future, this policy will be updated before release to describe what is stored, where, and how to export or delete it (GDPR). To have referral records for your anonymous ID deleted, contact us with the invite code shown in the app.
